Troubleshooting
The three errors that cover almost every failed request, whatever the client — then the per-agent gotchas.
Common HTTP errors
| Error | Meaning & fix |
|---|---|
401 | "invalid x-api-key" / "Unauthorized" — the key is wrong, revoked, or not pasted in full. Create a fresh key in the portal and re-paste the whole sk-prov-live-… value (no quotes, no trailing space). |
402 | "insufficient balance" — your prepaid balance and free credit are spent. Top up with a card or crypto, or start a plan — see Billing & plans. |
404 | "model not found" — that id isn't enabled on this gateway, or the base URL is wrong for your client's wire format (the classic: /v1/v1/messages from putting /v1 on an Anthropic-format base). List live ids on the Models page and check the base-URL rule on the API overview. |
